Hi,
My name is Emma and I require support and guidance as I am blind. I am a spirited young woman with a wonderful mind, memory and imagination. I have many hobbies and require a like-minded aid to support me in some specific areas.
I would appreciate a motivated worker who is patient and understanding of my needs, who would be my sighted guide allowing me to navigate safely in my local area or to attend activities that are dear to me. Someone who has experience in moving and handling as well as having supported previously would be welcomed. A good understanding of risk assessment would help me to stay safe at home or out on my activities. I would like a flexible and confident support who would encourage me to build in my confidence and abilities.
I have specific interest in computers and have recently began trying to get back into gaming, with the use of a screen reader. I like to write stories and require support with my grammar, I’m interested in making them into manga for blind and sighted people. I have become interested in Dungeon’s and Dragons and would like to attend gatherings and use my imagination to take myself out of an ordinary day. I hope to design my own fantasy role playing game, I will require someone to support me with this in way of computer coding and helping me move what’s in my mind to hopefully my own video game for blind and sighted people.
If you feel you have the skills and would be able to support me in computer programming and building games etc I would love for you to apply for this post. I can take a little time in feeling comfortable with new supports or meeting new people. I will build confidence as time goes on and I hope to build a confident partnership that will support me to explore the computing and accessing new activities in my local area.
If you feel you have the skills and abilities to facilitate this support please apply to claire@ailn.org with an up to date CV.
Please note that AILN are not the employer, we support families to recruit their own care staff.
