Post Personal Assistant

to a Lady who lives in New Cumnock

P/T support 18 hrs per week

Shifts will be on a 2 week rolling rota basis

 

Mon, tue, wed — week 1

Thu, Friday, Saturday — week 2

 

Then back to week 1, followed by week 2

 

As well as assist to cover other staff A/L

Salary

 

Living wage rate – £12.60 per hour
Job Purpose To work closely and flexibly with a Lady who has a physical disability to ensure she is appropriately supported to participate in a full range of opportunities in her life and to continue to develop her independence.
Employer You will be employed by a Personal employer, who will be assisted to administer payroll and undertake the necessary employment support responsibilities by a relevant support organisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

Personalise as required

The employee will be required to assist the employer with personal care tasks, that will include showering, dressing, shaving legs and arms, drying and dressing. Applying creams and moisturisers.

Assist with household tasks: this will include washing, ironing, changing bedding, cooking cleaning, shopping, emptying bins, polishing, sweeping floors, keeping the kitchen, bathroom and the rest of the house clean, general household tasks.

Help with general every day tasks that is usual for life eg parcelling and posting a parcel etc

To assist the employer with the feeding of her rescue dogs, ensure they have fresh water and their bowls are kept clean.

You will have to be extremely ok with dogs. Staff help the employer feed and water the dogs and wash the dog bowls.

To assist the employer getting out and about.

Driving

Being flexible is a key component to this job and you will be guided by the employer about the particular activities she wants to participate in at particular times and you are expected to support her choices.

You will be required to drive as part of your role. Must have your own vehicle, business use on your car Ins . mileage allowance will be provided.

Training You will be expected to undergo any other training relevant to the employer’s needs.

Personal Qualities The employer is looking for someone with a good sense of humour, down to earth, likes a good blether and a bit of banter but is also a good listener.

Must be flexible and be willing to cover shifts, possibly at short notice.

Must be comfortable around dogs and not scared, as the employer has her own as well as foster dogs.
Other Must have a full clean UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle, you must have business use on your insurance.

You must be physically fit as at times , as I need to use a wheelchair

You must have a good sense of humour.

You must be a dog lover, as the employer has  her own,  as well as fosters dogs.

May be required to drive to Glasgow or Paisley due to hospital appointments

There is a 6 month probation, with the discretion of the employer to extend If required.

As well as if successful will have to undergo a new or update of the PVG disclosure scheme. You will be required to pay for your disclosure, this will be reimbursed back to you in your fist wage

Should you leave the employment within 6 months of your own choice, the PVG cost will be taken off your final wage
