P/TSupport Worker / Driver required. To provide support for a 28-year man

Rate of pay: £12.60 per hour plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave

Working hours – 6-10 hours per week.  In the Troon Area, of South Ayrshire.

Are you outgoing, helpful, caring and want to make a positive difference to someone’s life. If so, this could be the ideal opportunity for you. This post is to work with a young man.

Your role is to provide emotional and physical support to a Young Man in his late 20s. He prefers the company of people in his own peer group range 25 to 45, this may include helping him get to and participate in sports activities etc safely, planning activities, household tasks and on the job training.

You will ensure he is always safe.

You will be required to work 6-10 hours or 40 hours over a four-week period agreed with your employer.

The young man has epilepsy, therefore previous experience working with individuals with epilepsy is preferred, but if required training can be given to ensure his safety at all times.

You will provide training in Independent Living Skills to enable independent living (budgeting, using public transport, finding employment, cooking, cleaning, basic general maintenance around the home etc.).

The ultimate goal is ‘independence’ for the young person in terms of developing socially and emotionally as well as in their ability to learn and work independently.

Applicants must have a positive, flexible and friendly personality as well as have a clean driving licence and access to a reliable car and to ensure that you have up to date business insurance for your vehicle.

The young man is keen to maintain his health and fitness and will do this through exercise; swimming, the gym, 10 pin bowling, and walking and exercise group run by CLDT. He also enjoys music, the cinema and concerts. You will be required to support him to access and participate in these activities.

The hourly rate of pay will be £12.60 before deductions.
