Makaton training for AILN staff
AILN staff completed an introductory course in Makaton today and will shortly have Makaton Friendly status.
Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech, in spoken word order.
The Makaton Friendly scheme recognises local organisations and businesses that strive to make their services accessible to children and adults who use Makaton.
and firmly believe that all children and adults with a learning or communication difficulty should be able to access the same services and facilities as everyone else.
Can you guess what Kaye and Sharon needed to know the sign for?
