Support Worker Post 2 – 3 hours per week

I am a disabled lady I live in my own home and I have MS. My home is fully equipped to meet my needs.
It is important to recognize that the support you will be employed to assist with will be provided within my family home, therefore confidentiality and respect for my privacy and daily routine is of the utmost importance.
The tasks you may be required to do will vary – according to my needs – and could include the following:
PERSONAL TASKS: (Appropriate training will be given).
Assistance with my mobility, movement and positioning in my chair/ using a mobile or portable/poolside hoist
Accompanying me to take part in social activities
Some light housework
Some light cooking
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND OUTINGS:
You may be required to…
Assist me when going to the Cinema/Theatre/Appointments
Assist me going to the Shops, Meeting Friends or Family, Leisure Activities.
Assisting me to go to the swimming pool
Assisting me with transfers – using appropriate equipment
Be with me in the pool
Drive: This will be discussed at interview
Pushing the wheelchair
Help with hobbies and crafts.
The Wage current rate is: £8.75 per hour and there is a 6 month probationary period.
Double time is paid for hours worked on the 25th, 26th Dec & 1st & 2nd Jan.
Skills and Experience:
You will preferably have an up to date Moving and Assisting certificate or be willing to undertake training
Be honest, reliable and have an outgoing personality
Staff Holiday entitlement:
Paid holidays are as follows: 5.6 weeks per year, multiplied by your normal working weekly hours. This includes Bank and Public Holidays.
Staff Probationary Period:
This post has a 6 month probationary period attached to it, with one week’s notice either way if things are not working out, after which the vacancy becomes permanent. You will receive a contract of employment within 6 – 8 weeks of your start date.
The Successful applicant will have to undergo a full / update of the Protection of vulnerable groups disclosure (at the employer’s expense) and provide two up to date checkable reference contacts prior to appointment.
