Wanted:   Personal Assistant, this job would ideally suit a student or someone looking for part time weekend work. 

Hours: 13.5 hours per week, One day per weekend

Pay Rate £8.75 per hour going up to £9.00 on completion of successful probationary period, plus 5.6 weeks AL Pro Rata

Job Description

Are you a genuinely caring, outgoing person with the ability to be friendly and supportive?

We are looking for a personal assistant and companion for a friendly man with a learning difficulty. He is really sociable and particularly enjoys participating in clubs and activities and enjoys his work placement training. The man uses a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy to get around.

The person lives in his own home, and gets support from their team of cares. You will support the Young Adult in his home and in the community. It is important to recognise that the care and support you will assist with will be provided within his home, and the community, therefore confidentiality and respect for the person’s privacy and daily routine is of the upmost importance.

You will be required to work on a flexible basis including evenings and weekends.

You should have a positive, open minded, flexible and friendly personality

If you are required to drive the person’s vehicle, you will need a clean driving licence. The man is happy to travel using public transport.

You will provide support with companionship, all aspects of personal care, supportto enable the person to participate in community based activities and to enable them to increase their circle of friends. Assistance to attend appointments is also required.

 

Salary is £8.75 per hour going up to £8.75 per hour in June 2018

Post subject to successful reference and PVG checks.

Two up to date Reference contactsare required one of which must be from a present or previous employer. In addition a new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment (disclosure cost to be met by the employer).

Probationary Period attached a 6 months to this post. During this period, either party can end the employment by giving the other one weeks’ notice.
