P/T Support worker Drivers/ Tarbolton – South Ayrshire Ref: EG/TARBOLTON/5

£10.90 per hr
Post – 5hrs per week to take the employer to powerchair football on Tuesday evenings between 6pm and 11pm
Also on offer are 6 to 8 Sundays per annum to take to football matches. Usually 8 hr shifts
The role involves caring for a man who has a spinal injury and is a wheelchair user. He lives with and gets support from his partner.
He is looking to employ a P/T personal assistant , he is looking for someone that is willing to go the extra mile and help him lead an independent life. It would be desirable, but not essential that they have experience of supporting adults with physical disabilities.
It is important to recognise that the care and support you will assist with will involve going to the family home, therefore confidentiality and respect for him and his partner’s privacy and daily routine is of the upmost importance.
He also particularly enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, watching tv, shopping and socialising with friends and eating out.
Main role will be to accompany and provide support enabling him to travel to wheelchair football on a Tues evening, as well as go to football games throughout the year.
There will be occasions where support with some personal care requirements will be needed.
Looking for a competent, experienced driver with full clean driving licence who can drive his wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Attend any training courses that are arranged and that you need to undertake in order to do your job safely. Training will be paid for by the employer.
Please note that if you are successful, you will be required to provide 2 up to date reference contacts, one of which must be from a present or previous employer.
In addition, you will be required to undertake a new or update of the PVG disclosure scheme prior to appointment, the disclosure cost to be met by the employer.
There is a 6 month Probationary Period attached to this post, with a 1 weeks notice within this period if the post is not working out.
