P/T Support Worker / Companion / Driver (Female)  – must have use of own transport

Hours:  7 hrs p/wk 

Approximate shift times 1pm – 4pm)   

Flexible days Mon / Wed / Fri / Sat or Sun – to be discussed at interview – you will also be required to assist with covering other staff Sickness & Annual Leave) 

R.O.P:                  £10.90 per hr

Duties:

To accompany and be a companion to a young woman aged 48 who lives in the Prestwick area. Following a stroke this young woman has been left with limited mobility and no speech, although she is able to carry out some day to day tasks and can communicate with others with the aid of technology.  She has recently developed Epilepsy which is now managed by medication therefore relevant training will be required.

She likes to go to the gym, out shopping and generally out and about.  It is hoped that you would also be able to encourage her to try other hobbies such as swimming or going to the cinema.

Applicant will be required to use their own vehicle, a mileage allowance will be paid. Full current clean driving licence required along with business insurance.

Successful applicant will require Epilepsy training which can be provided by the employer.

***Successful applicant will have to undergo a new PVG Disclosure, at the employer’s expense and supply 2 reference contacts prior to appointment.

There is a 6 month probationary period attached to this post with a 1 weeks’ notice within that time if the post does not work out.
