will be EITHER on a TUESDAY, from 1 PM – 5.30 PM or on a FRIDAY, from 12noon – 4.30PM = 4.5 working hours, but will be paid 5 hours, allowing 15 minutes paid travel time each way.

Job Purpose | To work closely and flexibly with a a young person who has physical disabilities / LD / etc ( delete as appropriate ) to ensure s/he is appropriately supported to participate in a full range of opportunities in their life and to continue to develop and follow their hobbies and interests.

Employer | You will be employed by the family, who will be assisted to administer payroll and undertake the necessary employment support responsibilities by a relevant support organisation. |
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Personalise as required |
You will be responsible for supporting the young lady to engage in all aspects of community life and activities as directed by her family.
Being flexible is a key component to this job and you will be guided by the family about the particular activities the young lady likes. You are expected to support her choices. You will be required to act as a friend and companion to her, as well as fulfilling a guidance and supervisory role. To take part in a variety of different activities that she enjoys, such as walking her dog, grooming her horse, outings to the coffee / ice-cream shop going to cinema / going to the Gym / shopping – once current covid restrictions are lifted. Assist in personal care role: showering / hair washing changing her bed linen and guidance for preparing a basic meal, washing dishes, some general housework chores Assist with basic computer skills, eg online shopping , accessing email and Level 2 college material online and accompanying her to travel on public transport — Once restrictions are lifted. |

Personal Qualities | The young person is looking to recruit someone with some similar interests, she gets on better and feels more comfortable around those of her own peer group age 20s to 30s.

Must be comfortable around dogs, cats and horses |
Other | You must have a full clean UK driving licence with business use on your Ins
You must be physically fit as there is the need to lift his wheelchair and bags in and out of the car. You must have a good sense of humour. |
You will be paid a mileage allowance for use of your car whilst taking the young lady out – again adhering to current Covid rules

There is a 3 month probationary period attached to this post, although the post is temp for 3 months, it may be extended by the family, if this is the case the probationary period may also be extended
