Female Support worker required , 14 hrs per week over 2 days Sat and Sunday, or willing to split to consider 2 workers doing 7 hrs , also casual staff required.
Days will be Saturday and Sunday — hrs to be discussed at interview, but may include either dayshift, backshift up 11pm , 7hr shift
£9.30 per hr, also required to cover some extra hrs to cover holiday hrs for main carer.
The employer is a disabled lady with Huntington’s disease, stage 4. She lives with her carers. She is totally reliant on her 2 main Carers, as she is completely bed ridden and cannot do anything for herself.
It is important to recognise that the support you are employed to assist with will be provided within the carers home, therefore confidentiality and respect for the family’s privacy and daily routine is of the utmost importance.
The tasks you may be required to do will vary, according to her needs, and will include the following:
Bed bath ( training will be given by main carer ), brushing hair, applying creams if skin poor, changing her pads, assist with personal hygiene
Assistance with medication, drinking, eating etc.
Talk to her, be a companion
Change TV channels, make a cuppa, just be there for her whilst her carers are out.
There is a 6 month probationary period attached to the post.
The post accrues 5.6 wks paid annual leave per annum inclusive of Public Holidays, based on weekly hrs.
The employer may state when some of this annual leave has to be taken, the holiday year runs from the 1st April to 31st March, all annual leave must be used within this frame time.
The post is subject to a New or update of the PVG disclosure scheme – cost paid by the employer and providing 2 up to date reference contacts , one should be your most recent employer
