Job Title: Support Worker/ Driver
Location: Auchinleck
Working Hours: 20 hours per week
Salary: £12 per hour
Working Days: Monday to Friday, every second Saturday
Shift Pattern:
- Week 1: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (4 hours)
- Week 2: 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM (4 hours)
Job Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker Driver to assist an individual with daily living tasks, household chores, and transportation. This is a part-time role with varying shifts across two weeks, involving personal care, domestic duties, and social activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Personal Care:
- Assisting with showering, bathing, drying, and dressing.
- Household Tasks:
- Dusting, hoovering, mopping floors, and general cleaning.
- Washing, ironing, and maintaining a tidy home.
- Meal preparation, including cooking, making sandwiches, and preparing drinks.
- Emptying bins and keeping the kitchen and bathroom clean.
- Errands and Shopping:
- Going to local shops, assisting with grocery shopping, and completing household errands.
- Light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and using appropriate equipment like ladders.
- Car Care and Pet Care:
- Hoovering and cleaning the car.
- Assisting with feeding and walking two small dogs (one of which may be noisy but is not aggressive).
- Social and Leisure Activities:
- Accompanying the employer to medical appointments, shopping, and social outings.
- Assisting with leisure activities, including trips to bingo and other social events.
- Driving:
- Safely driving the employer’s automatic vehicle to appointments, errands, and social activities.
Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license and ability to drive an automatic vehicle.
- Experience in providing personal care and household support.
- Friendly and patient with a willingness to assist in various tasks as needed.
- Comfortable around small dogs.
- Physically able to perform tasks such as hoovering and using ladders for light maintenance.
Additional Information:
- The role includes a six-month probationary period. Either party can provide one week’s notice if the post does not work out.
- Annual leave: The post accrues 5.6 weeks of annual leave (inclusive of public holidays), which must be taken within the leave year (April 1st – March 31st). The employer may determine when some of the leave is to be taken.
- The position is subject to a new PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) disclosure update.
