Dundonald £12 per hr – EG

3 F/T Male Support worker posts available : To join an existing team

Each post will be :  38hrs per week and 2 Sleepovers included in 4 week period, sleepover may be changed into hrs. 

Days will include dayshifts, backshifts, overnights and weekends on a rota system.

Days and times to be discussed at interview.

Rate of pay: £12 per hr daytime and £12 per hr sleepover (sleepover is 10pm – 8am), pay rate to reflect the experience required.

  • 6 month, probationary period.
  • Will be required to work extra hours to cover for other staff A/L ,Days of work to be discussed at interview
  • Full clean Drivers licence required

Personal specifications:

  • Must be a confident / competent driver
  • Must have a clean driver’s licence
  • Experience in care sector is desirable
  • Having a current Moving & Assisting Certificate is desirable but not essential as access to training course is provided.
  • Must be available to cover for respite, this may include travel either in the uk or abroad, fully paid.

The employers are 2 brothers who live in the same household, they are both wheelchair users both have a muscle wasting condition that affects their day to day needs.

Duties and tasks to be undertaken:

  • Full Personal Care
  • Transfers using hoist
  • Assisting with air ventilator – training can be given
  • Assisting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Take part in training
  • Willing to undertake training as required for the driving of the wheelchair accessible vehicle ( cost will be covered by the employer )
  • Must be physically fit, this can be a physically demanding job

Their Hobbies and interests are:

  • Boccia, both are on the National Team, which is their main interest. This involves training upwards of 10 hours a week.
  • Daily stretching and exercise is completed to help with disability.

The family are looking to employ 3 workers to support both brothers within the team.

There is a 6 month probation period attached to this post, with a 1 week notice within this period if the post does not work out.
