To assist a 34 year old Man with Learning Disabilities to take part in social activities
In the Irvine Area, of North Ayrshire.
The hourly rate of pay will be £8.45 before deductions. With 5.6 weeks paid annual leave pro rata.
A great opportunity to help a man with Learning disabilities to become an active and valued member of his community. You will be employed to work 10 hours per week on a flexible basis. You will be employed to work out and about in the community with the person to enable him to access social activities.
The person is keen to maintain their health and fitness and will do this through exercise; swimming, the gym, 10 pin bowling, walking and an exercise group run by CLDT. He also enjoys music, the cinema and concerts. You will be required to support him to access and participate in these activities.
You must be willing to aid and support the gentleman to access and take part in activities and events of his choosing within the community.
Applicants must have a positive, flexible and friendly personality as well as have a clean driving licence.
A clean driving licence and access to a reliable car with up to date business insurance for your vehicle is essential.
To be prepared to participate in swimming and be a competent swimmer.
To encourage the person to participate in activities and events of his choosing and at his own pace within an inclusive environment.
To actively comply and operate within the bounds of Health & Safety legislation.
To ensure that suitable action and reporting is undertaken regarding any safe guarding issues or hazards that you know or become aware of with regard to supporting the person.
To attend each session at the required start time.
To engage in face-to-face conversation with Stuart both in groups and on an individual basis.
To undertake personal care or supervise medication (with support) when required to.
To support and encourage the person to participate in activities, within a secure, friendly environment when undertaking activities in the community.
To provide opportunities for the person to achieve and expand in existing as well as new interests and skills
To provide opportunities for the person to make friends and develop appropriate relationships with both peers and adults.
Previous experience of Supporting People with Learning disabilities is desirable.
