Job Purpose | To work closely and flexibly with a young person who has a mild Learning Disability to ensure she is appropriately supported to participate in a full range of opportunities in her life and to continue to develop and follow her hobbies and interests. |
Employer | You will be employed by the family, who will be assisted to administer payroll and undertake the necessary employment support responsibilities by a relevant support organisation. |
Key Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supporting the young lady to engage in all aspects of community life and activities as directed by her family.
Being flexible is a key component to this job and you will be guided by the family about the particular activities the young lady likes. You are expected to support her choices. You will be required to provide morning supports for dressing and breakfast on a Thurs / fri, then act as a companion to her, as well as fulfilling a guidance and supervisory role at weekends. To take part and actively encourage her to get involved in a variety of different activities that she enjoys, such as going to cinema / going to the Gym / shopping / bingo / swimming Assist with basic computer skills, eg online shopping , accessing email and help with learning her driving theory online , as well as accompanying her to travel on public transport |
Training | No particular training required, mainly a common sense approach |

Personal Qualities | The young person is looking to recruit someone with some similar interests, she gets on better and feels more comfortable around those of her own peer group age 20s to 30s.

Other | You must have a full clean UK driving licence with business use on your Ins

You will be paid a mileage allowance for use of your car whilst taking the young lady out – again adhering to current

There is a 6 month probationary period attached to this post
Successful applicant will have to undergo a new or update of the PVG disclosure scheme and provide 2 up to date reference contacts.
